Norwich City came from a goal down to secure their first Premier League home point of the season. In truth, Norwich will feel that they deserved all three, and were it not for the heroic performance of Jack Butland in the Stoke City goal, that would surely have been the case.
Stoke City started the game well and with much of the pre-match hype centred around new-boy Xherdan Shaqiri, it was fitting that he played a major part in their opener. After winning a free-kick just outside the Norwich area, the former Bayern Munich man floated in a lovely ball to the waiting Mame Biram Diouf. Diouf, who had managed to elude the entire Norwich defence, pounced on the ball and sent it flying past John Ruddy.
Norwich soon recovered from their early blow however…
