Luck Helps – But Goal Scorers Help More


Giggs & LvgA frustrating goalless draw against Newcastle saw Manchester United take seven points from a possible nine in the league. In the three games so far, United have not conceded a single goal. If there was a highlight of this game, it was United’s defence.

After the game, Louis van Gaal was satisfied with the performance but not the result. He stated that sometimes a little luck is necessary. I would retort that sometimes a little extra quality up front also helps. Furthermore, I would add that a goal does not always need to be walked into the net with a hundred passes on the way.
