Life is a Game of Two Halves

So much has been going on in the past two weeks of the football season. I’ve been literally itching to write about Europe’s finest and all that’s happened during their first week of matches, preseason friendlies and Cup games. However, my experience has told me to always wait for a couple of matches before judging any teams’ start to a season.

Football analysts on social media bombarded us with large headlines and useless deductions on how wrong and mistaken certain teams and coaches were as they went about preparing for the new season and in the transfer window. All that from preseason friendlies and/or season openers. Big teams that lost or even tied were criticized, while small teams that won were suddenly transformed into the leagues’ new dark horses.

How I see it, it’s great to analyse a team’s performance in the first couple of games at the start of the season, just don’t…
