José Mourinho appears to be losing the plot.
That’s the narrative coming out of Chelsea football club this week after the mercurial Portuguese blew a gasket on Saturday over an innocuous misunderstanding with his medical staff. Club doctor Eva Carneiro, a professional of many years’ experience and invaluable knowledge, received the majority of Mourinho’s ire for routinely attending to a supposed injured Chelsea player during the weekend’s Barclays Premier League opener against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge. What Carneiro, born in Gibraltar to an English mother and Spanish father, didn’t anticipate, was Mourinho’s fury that a treated Eden Hazard would be required to leave the pitch, temporarily leaving Chelsea with 9 players following Thibaut Courtois’ red card.
