Jordon Ibe’s phenomenal strike wasone of few positives for Liverpool as they laboured to a 1-1 draw with a Malysian XI in Kuala Lumpur.

It was a uninspiring performance by the Reds with 19-year-old Ibe a standout, sparing his side’s blushes after they went a goal down after just 20 minutes. Divock Origi and Dejan Lovren both put in sluggish performances as Liverpool struggled to get out of first gear at the National Stadium.

Brendan Rodger’s side passed up several opportunities to win the game but were largely unconvincing in front of goal, with young Belgian Origi failing to convert a number of chances in front of goal.

Big money signings Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino were still not available for selection as they continue to build up their fitness back at Melwood, Liverpool’s training ground.
